PM Modi Nominates 10 Personalities For Campaign Against Obesity, Challenges Them To Cut Oil Intake
The PM has on X posted the names of 10 personalities across fields who will take the movement further.
PM Narendra Modi has announced a line-up of personalities to support the nation-wide awareness movement against obesity. Modi in Mann Ki Baat called for lower levels of oil consumption. He nominated 10 personalities to spread awareness and challenged them to cut their oil consumption by 10%.
The PM has on X posted the names of 10 personalities across fields who will take the movement further.
"As mentioned in yesterday’s #MannKiBaat, I would like to nominate the following people to help strengthen the fight against obesity and spread awareness on reducing edible oil consumption in food. I also request them to nominate 10 people each so that our movement gets bigger!" he posted.
The star-studded line-up has names from a wide array of industries. Modi tagged Anand Mahindra, Nirahua Hindustani, Manu Bhaker, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Ranganathan Madhavan, Shreya Ghoshal and Sudha Murty along with others in his post.
"Collectively, let us make India fitter and healthier. #FightObesity," he added.

Actor Mohan Lal was also named in the list. The list also included Nandan Nilekani and Omar Abdullah.
The PM highlighted the need to use lower amounts of oil as it causes heart diseases and hypertension.
He further said that being mindful of food intake is also one's responsibility toward their family. He said that small changes to food habits can make the future stronger, fitter and disease free.
