The FIIs sold index options worth Rs 468.07 crore and index futures worth Rs 1,020.29 crore.

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers for the sixth straight session in the cash market on Friday. They were also net sellers in index futures and options and in stock options, while they bought stock futures.
FIIs In Cash Market
The foreign portfolio investors on Friday stayed net sellers of Indian shares and sold stocks worth approximately Rs 2,254.68 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange. The DIIs that have been buyers for the 18th session bought stocks worth Rs 3,961.92 crore.
The FPIs sold stake worth Rs 7,044.31 crore on Thursday, according to the National Securities Depository Ltd. So far in January 2024, FPIs have sold stakes worth Rs 22,194 crore, according to NSDL.
According to NSDL data collected by NDTV Profit, FPIs have offloaded stock worth Rs 16,908.03 crore in the stock exchanges until Jan 9.

FIIs In Futures And Options
Ahead of the Jan. 25 expiry, the value of outstanding positions—also called open interest in the derivatives segment—has increased for the FIIs in the Nifty futures. The FIIs' long-to-short ratio in index futures remains at 15%:85%.
The FIIs sold index options worth Rs 468.07 crore and index futures worth Rs 1,020.29 crore. They bought stock futures worth Rs 3,867.91 crore and sold stock options worth Rs 285.15 crore.
FII Contract Value
The value of the total Nifty 50 futures open interest in the market decreased by Rs 431.1 crore at the end of January expiry from Rs 32,258.8 crore a day earlier to Rs 31,827.7 crore.
F&O Cues
The Nifty January futures were down by 0.56% to 23,515.00 at a premium of 84 points, with the open interest down by 0.72%.
The open interest distribution for the Nifty 50 Jan. 16 expiry series indicated most activity at 24,500 call strikes, with the 22,000 put strikes having maximum open interest.
Long-Short Ratio
The total long-short ratio for foreign investors fell to 1.19 from 1.20 in the previous session.
