Foreign portfolio investors turned net sellers of Indian equities on Wednesday after a session of buying on Wednesday. They were also net sellers of index options, stock futures and options and remained buyers in index futures.
FIIs In Cash Market
Foreign portfolio investors turned net sellers of Indian equities on Wednesday after a session of buying on Wednesday as they sold stocks worth approximately Rs 1,682.8 crore.
Domestic institutional investors turned net buyers after a selling session as they mopped up equities worth Rs 996.3 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.
Notably, FPIs turned buyers for the first time since Jan. 2 on Tuesday and bought stocks worth Rs 809.2 crore.

FIIs In Futures And Options
Ahead of the Feb. 27 expiry, the value of outstanding positions—also called open interest in the derivatives segment—has increased for foreign institutional investors in the Nifty futures. The FIIs' long-to-short ratio in index futures remains at 18%:82%.
The FIIs bought index futures worth Rs 633.14 crore and sold options worth Rs 15,691 crore. They sold stock futures and options worth Rs 2,638.59 crore and Rs 970.79 crore, respectively.
FII Contract Value
The value of the total Nifty 50 futures open interest in the market decreased by Rs 221.6 crore at the end of February expiry from Rs 39,715.43 crore a day earlier to Rs 39,493.83 crore.
F&O Cues
The Nifty February futures were down 0.12% to 23,757 at a premium of 60.7 points, with the open interest down by 0.5%.
The open interest distribution for the Nifty 50 Feb. 6 expiry series indicated most activity at 24,000 call strikes, with the 23,000 put strikes having maximum open interest.
Long-Short Ratio
The total long-short ratio for foreign investors fell to 1.13 from 1.18 in the previous session.
