The GIFT Nifty was trading near 24,200 in early trade on Friday. Shares of Hindustan Zinc Ltd., Varun Beverages, and NHPC Ltd. may react in Friday's session. The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.18% or 43 points higher at 24,193.00 as of 6:49 a.m.

As 3:30 p.m. the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 futures were trading 0.31% and 0.35% higher, respectively. The Nasdaq 100 future was 0.46% higher.

JM Financial Ltd. has received a warning letter from the Securities Exchange Board of India in relation to the IPO of shares by one of its clients, Western Carriers, according to an exchange filing.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. has reported that its December cargo volumes increasing by 8% year-on-year to 38.4 million metric tonn. Additionally, December container volumes grew by 22%, while liquids and gas volumes saw a 7% increase, as per an exchange filing.

Oil future prices were hovering around two-month high in Asia session Friday as supply outlook worries rise on diminishing US stock piles. As of 8:30 a.m., the February future contract was trading 0.43% higher at $76.06 a barrel as of 8:41 a.m.
