Titan Com., Infosys Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Grasim Industries Ltd., and JSW Steel Ltd. were among the top gainers in the NSE Nifty 50 on Wednesday.
Bharat Electronics Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., Eicher Motors Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corp. and Axis Bank Ltd. were among the top losers.
Titan was the biggest gainer, closing 3.58% higher at Rs 3,562.20 apiece, followed by Infosys closing 2.11% higher at Rs 1,614.90 apiece and then Mahindra & Mahindra closed 2.08% higher at Rs 3,215.50 apiece. Grasim and JSW Steel were also among the gainers.
Bharat Electronics was the biggest laggard, closing 2.97% lower at Rs 406.05, followed by Kotak Mahindra Bank closing 1.14% lower at Rs 2,198.30 apiece and then Eicher, which closed 0.94% lower at 5,576 apiece. ONGC and Axis Bank were also among the losers.
The benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Wednesday, led by share prices of Titan Ltd. and Grasim Industries Ltd.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 200.4 points or 0.8% higher at 25,244.75, while the BSE Sensex closed 700.4 points or 0.85% up at 82,755.51. During the day, the Nifty rose 0.89% to trade at 25,266.80 and the Sensex rose 0.93% to 82,815.91.
