Nifty 50 Top Gainers And Losers On May 22: IndusInd Bank, JSW Steel To Wipro

Bajaj Auto Ltd., Bharati Airtel Ltd., Hero MotoCorp Ltd., IndusInd Bank Ltd. and JSW Steel Ltd. were among top gainers of the NSE Nifty 50 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Oil and Natural Gas Corp., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Tech Mahindra Ltd., Hindalco Industries Ltd., and Wipro Ltd. were among the biggest laggards.

IndusInd Bank was the biggest champion for today, recovering from a rough journey and closed 1.76% higher at Rs 783.50 apiece. It rose as high as 3.47% during the day. The next best performer was JSW, closing 0.71% high at Rs 1,008 apiece. Bajaj Auto was also a shining star, closing in the green at Rs 8,733.50, 0.53% higher.

Bharti Airtel and Hero MotoCorp were also among the winners on Thursday.

On the other hand, ONGC emerged as the biggest loser slumping 2.65% to close at Rs 242.1 apiece. During the day, it fell 3.65% lower to touch Rs 239.61 apiece. M&M was also among the worst performers and closed 2.42% at Rs 3,016 apiece, closely followed by Tech Mahindra, which was 2.04% lower at Rs 1,565.6 apiece. Additionally, Hindalco and Wipro also lagged through the day.

The benchmark equity indices closed lower on Thursday, after a day's respite amid volatility in the domestic stock markets.

The NSE Nifty 50 closed 203.75 points, or 0.82% lower at 24,609.7 and the BSE Sensex ended 644.44 points, or 0.79% down at 80,951.99. During the day, the Nifty 50 fell 1.41% to 24,462.4, while Sensex declined 1.36% to 80,489.92.
