Gold and silver prices showed no signs of cooling as both precious metals scaled fresh records on Thursday amid a weak US dollar and strong buying trends in global markets. The uptick is said to be supported by heightened geopolitical tensions and persistent trade-related uncertainties, which boosted safe-haven demand for precious metals.
"Gold and silver continue to witness a strong and sustained rally, with bulls finding fresh catalysts almost every day to push prices higher," Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst - Commodities at HDFC Securities told news agency PTI.
The gold rate in India on Wednesday is Rs 1,67,210 while the silver rate is Rs 3,87,640, according Bullions website.
Gold Rates Today
In Mumbai, the financial heart of the country, 24-carat gold is retailing at approximately Rs 1,66,900 per 10 grams. Kolkata follows a similar trend, with its gold rate reported at Rs 1,66,680. Both cities are behind the national capital, Delhi, where the 24-carat rate currently stands at Rs 1,66,620.
The southern markets continue to record the highest figures in the country. Chennai leads the metros with a peak rate of Rs 1,67,390, while Hyderabad and Bengaluru follow closely at Rs 1,67,170 and Rs 1,67,040 respectively, keeping the price gap between the southern hubs and the northern capital distinct.

Silver's rise is further amplified by its dual role in AI data centers and solar energy, coupled with tight physical supply. Here is how the silver rates are unfolding across major Indian hubs today: Mumbai is the epicenter of this price rally. Prices have surged to Rs 3,86,940 per kg. In the national capital, Delhi, silver is keeping pace with Mumbai, currently priced at Rs 3,86,270 per kg.
Chennai and Hyderabad are seeing silver trade at approximately Rs 3,88,060 and Rs 3,87,550 per kg, respectively. Bengaluru follows closely, with rates hovering around Rs 3,87,240 per kg. Kolkata is also witnessing a surge with silver currently trading at roughly Rs 3,86,420.

On the international prices front, gold rallied past $5,550 an ounce to set a new all-time high as President Donald Trump warned Iran to make a nuclear deal with the US or face military strikes far worse than the attack he ordered last June. Bullion jumped as much as 3.2%, building on a 4.6% leap in the previous session which is said to be the biggest one-day gain since the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020. Silver climbed 1.2% to an all-time high, reports Bloomberg.
