The IMD predicts orange alert conditions for the Raigad areas neighbouring Mumbai on July 27. The remaining districts in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region are projected to receive a yellow alert, with the exception of Dhule which is likely to only see moderate rain. Earlier in the day, the Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation deployed its employees to drain rain water that pooled up in low-lying areas and to make sure that manholes stayed uncovered. The BMC also said in its post on 'X' that machinery was utilised to aid in the drainage efforts.
Uttarakhand's Dehradun joined the list of regions across India that faced heavy rains according to reports and footage from PTI.

Heavy congestion was seen across Mumbai's arterial roads on Friday evening, as commuters were one their way back home from their workplaces amid the ongoing rains. The heavy downpour has affected traffic movement, leading to vehicular jams at some of the key roads.
Local trains, considered the lifeline of Mumbai, are running around 10-12 minutes late, reports said, amid the ongoing downpour in the city. On the harbour line, trains are delayed by around 7-8 minutes, Livemint reported.

Cities in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal saw sever waterlogging according to reports. With Prayagraj, Kolkata and Vapi respectively dealing with this issue, according to reports from ANI.

The IMD issued orange alert for July 26 for Mumbai and Thane, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places, according to Rushikesh Agre (aka Mumbai Rains) on X, who cited an IMD report.

The IMD has predicted very heavy rains for two days from Friday due to a low-pressure area located along the coast from Maharasthra to the Kerala coast.
Heavy rains are likely to continue for five days till July 29, a release from the IMD and Kerala State Disaster Management Authority said on Friday.

Mumbai local trains for Harbour line are running 5 to 10 minutes late due to heavy rain in Navi Mumbai and its surrounding areas, as per NDTV report.
