Ramaphosa Extends Lead in Poll to Head South Africa's ANC: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa gained support of the majority of branches in four provinces to replace President Jacob Zuma as head of the African National Congress this month after winning the backing of 374 branches in the nation's economic heartland, Gauteng. His main rival, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has the support of two provinces, while Mpumalanga is keeping its options open about who it will back, with almost half of its branches declining to name their candidate last week. Branches in Limpopo should announce their preferred candidate on Monday and those in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.
