Tata Motors announces top-level appointments

Besides, ex Director Sales & Marketing of Volkswagen brand in India Neeraj Garg has been appointed as Vice President (Commercial) for PCBU, Tata Motors said in a statement.

Tata Motors on Tuesday announced top level appointments with former Samsung India country head for mobile and IT business Ranjit Yadav joining as President of its Passenger Car Business Unit (PCBU).

Besides, ex Director Sales & Marketing of Volkswagen brand in India Neeraj Garg has been appointed as Vice President (Commercial) for PCBU, Tata Motors said in a statement.

The incumbent Vice President (Commercial) for PCBU R Ramakrishnan has been moved to a corresponding role for its Commercial Vehicles Business Unit (CVBU). Prior to joining Tata Motors, Yadav was the Country Head (India) for the Mobile & IT Businesses of Samsung India Electronics Ltd. He had earlier worked with Hewlett Packard Asia Pacific, Philips Electronics and Pond's India Ltd.

Garg has joined Tata Motors from Volkswagen, where he was the Director Sales & Marketing (Volkswagen brand). He has earlier worked with Nissan Motor India and erstwhile Honda Siel Cars India.

Ramakrishnan has been with Tata Motors since he joined the company as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1985. Commenting on the appointments, Tata Motors Managing Director Karl Slym said: "Ranjit Yadav's experience of leading a highly customer-centric business will bring in the outside-in perspective that we need to further evolve our passenger vehicles business."

While Garg brings in significant domain understanding of the Indian car market, Ramakrishnan's extensive commercial vehicles experience will help the company to retain its traditional market dominance in the CV segment, he added. "We are happy that they will spearhead our aggressive plans in the high-potential market that India is," Slym said.
