Reliance Industries on Friday announced appointment of Adil Zainulbhai as independent director on its board. He was till recently chairman of McKinsey India.
"With this the Board will expand to 14 members with 8 members being Independent Directors," the company said in a statement.
"Adil is undoubtedly one of the finest consulting minds in the world and we are delighted to have him join our Board," Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani said.
"I look forward to his contributions in strengthening Reliance and preparing the organisation for sustained high growth," Mr Ambani said.
Mr Zainulbhai has had a distinguished 34-year career consulting with a variety of global and Indian corporations and their boards.
He has been very closely associated with several government-sponsored projects in areas like energy, urbanisation and inclusive growth, apart from his keen interest and efforts in community and social causes.
"Zainulbhai grew up in Bombay and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He also has an MBA from Harvard Business School," the statement said.
