ONDC Names COO Vibhor Jain As Acting CEO; Hunt On For Full-Time Chief
Jain was also a part of the eight-member Executive Committee, which had been jointly taking decisions so far.

Government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce has named Chief Operating Officer Vibhor Jain as its acting chief executive officer with immediate effect.
Jain was also a part of the eight-member Executive Committee, which had been jointly taking decisions so far. All executive powers will now be transitioned to Jain, as the organisation continues its process of identifying a new managing director and CEO.
"With the transition to a single point of leadership, the responsibilities previously overseen by the eight-member Executive Committee will now be integrated under the acting CEO's purview, marking the conclusion of the Committee's interim role. The Executive Committee has played a crucial role in steering ONDC over the past few weeks, ensuring operational continuity and progress across its key initiatives," it said in a statement.
The changes were triggered as T Koshy, the founding CEO and MD stepped down from his role last month.
A government-backed initiative, ONDC was launched in 2021. It was set up primarily to make digital commerce accessible to smaller players. It has been set up as a not-for-profit entity, which has formulated a set of standards for voluntary adoption by sellers or logistics providers or payments gateway operators.
