Infosys adds nearly 3,000 employees in Q2, attrition rate up slightly

Infosys, which today announced its second-quarter results, said that saw a net addition of 2,964 employees during the period. Overall, 12,168 employees joined Infosys and its subsidiaries during the July-September quarter.

Infosys numbers were roughly in line with estimates. Infosys reported profit of Rs 2,407 crore and revenue at Rs 12,965 crore. It raised FY14 revenue growth forecast to 9-10%, vs earlier guidance of 6-10%.

Infosys said during the July-September quarter employee utilization rate was slightly higher at 77.8 percent vs 75.9 percent in the previous quarter. The attrition rate also ticked up slightly to 17.3 percent during the July-September quarter as compared to 16.9 percent in the previous quarter.

Commenting on the results, S. D. Shibulal, CEO and Managing Director, said, "During the quarter we witnessed broad-based volume growth, robust client additions, five large deal wins and increased sales momentum of our big data and cloud offerings. This growth is a result of our focus on execution, which helps our clients achieve their objectives."
