The income tax department has also decided to set up a new call centre for taxpayer assistance
The Income Tax department will roll out its new e-filing portal, www.incometax.gov.in. today i.e. June 7 with the aim of providing a "modern, seamless experience" to the taxpayers. "The new e-filing portal is aimed at providing convenience and a modern, seamless experience to taxpayers," the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement on Saturday.
