Cyient DLM To Supply PCBAs To French Defence Major Thales, Secures Long-Term Contract

Cyient DLM Ltd. will manufacture high-reliability Printed Circuit Board Assemblies for French defence major Thales' next-generation flight avionics systems.

These mission-critical PCBAs will be deployed in leading commercial aircraft platforms, reinforcing Cyient DLM’s expertise in high-reliability electronics, the company said in a press release on Monday.

A PCBA is a fully assembled board with all components mounted, ready for use in electronic devices.

The Hyderabad-based company was awarded a long-term strategic avionics manufacturing program by Thales during last week's Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru. The company did not disclose the monetary value of the contract.

"Cyient DLM has demonstrated strong technical capabilities and competitive edge over the years for various Thales’s solutions," said Thales' senior executive Deepak Talwar.

Cyient DLM is leveraging its aerospace and defence expertise while expanding into the medical, rail transportation, and automotive sectors, according to Chief Technology Officer Kaushal Jadia. With a $1.5-billion order book in the last quarter, the company is seeing strong demand across design and manufacturing.

The company is focusing on niche AI applications in manufacturing, particularly in power electronics and optics. With a legacy in exports, Cyient DLM remains a preferred partner for both Indian and foreign firms, especially as the Indian government pushes for greater localisation, he said.

Thales, which supplies defence equipment to NATO as well as Indian armed forces, said last week it will deliver the first batch of Laser Beam Riding MANPAD (LBRM) Very Short Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) missiles and launchers to India with its partner Bharat Dynamics Ltd.

Shares of Cyient DLM were trading 3.2% lower at Rs 420.55 apiece by 1:00 p.m., compared to 0.24% decline in the benchmark NSE Nifty 50. The relative strength index stood at 51.

The stock has fallen 46% in the last 12 months and 23% on a year-to-date basis.

Nine out of 10 analysts tracking the company have a 'buy' rating on the stock, while one suggests a 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average of 12-month analyst price target of Rs 895 implies an upside of 113%.
