Canara Bank's X handle has been compromised, according to a statement by the bank.
“Canara Bank would like to inform to all concerned that the bank's official X (formerly Twitter) account has been compromised. All concerned teams are investigating the matter and working closely with X to regain access to Canara Bank X handle at the earliest," it stated in a press release on Sunday.
"We urge users not to post anything on our X page. We will inform immediately when it is restored and working in Canara Bank controls," the bank stated.
For the January-March quarter, the bank had reported an 18.3% rise in its standalone net profit in the fourth quarter of FY24 to Rs 3,757 crore, on account of increased net interest income and a drawdown in provisions. On a sequential basis, the net profit of the lender grew 2.7%.
