Byju's on Wednesday said its India operations head Mrinal Mohit has exited and will be replaced by former Chief Business Officer Arjun Mohan.

Mohan will take charge as the company's chief executive officer for India operations, as Mohit is "embarking on a journey to pursue personal aspirations", according to the company's statement.

Before joining Byju's, Mohan was the Chief Executive Officer at Ronnie Screwvala's higher education platform UpGrad. Mohan was also part of Byju's founding team and last served as the chief business officer, about two years ago.

In July, Mohan had rejoined Byju's and had spent the last three months working closely with group founder and CEO Byju Raveendran, according to the company.

"Arjun's return is a testament to his belief in our mission and the unparalleled opportunities that lie ahead. His expertise will undoubtedly help our turnaround efforts and strengthen our position in the global edtech landscape," Raveendran said.

"While challenges are aplenty, I am ready to play my role in helping Byju's empower our current and future generations to thrive in a rapidly changing world," Mohan said.

Amid these transformational changes, the organisation remains committed to a sustainable expansion, it said.

In an internal email accessed by BQ Prime, founder Byju Raveendran told employees, "with the transition plan firmly in place", he has "full confidence in our ability to sustain our regular operations and stay on course for continued growth."

Byju's has been rocked by a wave of senior-level resignations with Chief Business Officer Pratyusha Agarwal; Mukut Deepak, business head for Byju's Class 4-10 school segment; and Himanshu Bajaj, head of Byju's Tuition Centers business having exited the company.

WhiteHat Jr CEO Ananya Tripathi has also reportedly exited, but the edtech giant has not commented on the same. Instead, it has said the resignations are a part of a restructuring of verticals it is undertaking.
