As she came out of the Ministry of Finance, Sitharaman was spotted wearing a beautiful cream saree with gold borders. She paired it with a contrasting red blouse, matching it with the cover of her tab from which she will read out the Budget.
What stole Sitharaman’s look was the elegant Madhubani motif on the borders of her saree, with intricate designs.

Sitharaman did not disappoint Dulari Devi and kept her promise to wear the same saree on Budget Day.
Madhubani art is a traditional folk art originating from the Mithila region of Bihar. It is known for its intricate geometric patterns, floral designs, and depictions of nature and mythology. The art is distinguished by vibrant colours, delicate lines and symbolic representations.
Nirmala Sitharaman wearing the saree on such a significant occasion not only adds to the day’s significance but also honours India's rich cultural heritage, highlighting the country’s beautiful art forms.
Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the second budget of the Modi 3.0 government, setting a personal record of presenting eight consecutive budgets, the most for any Indian Finance Minister.
