Meghan Markle Returns To Instagram After Five Years Amid Divorce Rumours
Meghan Markle's new Instagram account has over 696,000 followers, which includes tennis legend Serena Williams and actor-producer Mindy Kaling, among others.

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has returned to Instagram after five years amid rumours of her split with husband Prince Harry. Markle shared a video of herself running on a beach on Jan. 1, wishing her fans and followers a happy new year.
As of Jan. 2, Markle has 696,000 followers on the social media platform, which includes tennis legend Serena Williams and actor-producer Mindy Kaling, among others.
In her debut post on the new Instagram account, the Duchess of Sussex looked stunning in an all-white outfit, writing “2025” in the sand. She then briefly glances at the camera before quickly running out of the frame.
As reported by ABC News, the video was shot by her husband, Prince Harry, on a public beach close to their home in Montecito, California, where they reside with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Just after posting the video on Instagram, her video became the target of hate-filled comments. Subsequently, Markle turned off the comments on her video.
This new account is Markle's second innings on Instagram. Prior to her marriage with Harry in 2018, the 'Suites' actress had an Instagram account with three million followers and ran a lifestyle blog called 'The Tig'.
She deactivated her Instagram account and her blog weeks before her wedding, which was one of the most-watched and widely covered weddings in history.
After the marriage, the couple initially shared an Instagram account titled 'Kensington Royal' with Harry's elder brother, Prince William, and Princess Kate.
"It was a big adjustment — a huge adjustment to go from that kind of autonomy to a different life," she told The Cut about shutting down her social media accounts.
Later, in 2019, amidst a rift between the prince and their respective spouses, Markle and Harry launched their own Instagram account named 'Sussex Royal'. However, the account was eventually deactivated in 2020 when the couple officially stepped back from their roles as senior members of the UK royal family and settled in California.
