Navi Mumbai is set to host one of the biggest music festivals of the year, with the British rock band Coldplay scheduled to perform soon. Ahead of the much-awaited concert, the city police department has issued an advisory to ensure smooth traffic movement.

According to media reports, the Navi Mumbai traffic authorities have issued restrictions on vehicle movement during the three days of the Coldplay concert to ensure traffic remains unaffected.

Coldplay will host their maiden India concert since 2016 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Jan. 18, Jan. 19 and Jan. 21.

The Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate has announced special traffic measures to manage the anticipated heavy vehicular movement due to the large number of VIPs, artists, and fans expected to attend the concert.

Tirupati Kakade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), has issued an order stating that all kinds of heavy and goods-carrying vehicles will not be allowed to enter, travel on, or park on any road under the jurisdiction of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate.

Vehicles carrying essential goods, fire engines, police vans, ambulances, government vehicles, and other essential service vehicles are exempt from this order. Additionally, vehicles holding official event management passes will also be granted exemption.

"Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly on the concert dates and avoid roads near the stadium during the restricted hours. Adequate arrangements to facilitate the movement of emergency and essential services during this period will be made," DCP Kakade was quoted as saying by Free Press Journal.

Coldplay is gearing up for a historic return to India with their highly anticipated concert. This marks their first live performance in the country since 2016. Artists like Jasleen Royal, Shone and Elyanna will grace the stage ahead of the British rock band's performance in Mumbai.

Along with shows in Mumbai, Coldplay will also take the stage at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Jan. 25 and 26.
