Mumbai and Kolkata will host the two semifinals with the first semi final being held at Mumbai on 15th November and Kolkata holding the second one on 16th November.
The host nation has won the ICC Cricket World Cup four times.
India have achieved this feat previously in 2011. And before India it was the famous Sri Lankan side that won the Cricket World cup in 1996, this was a jointly hosted tournament between India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Australia was the third nation to win the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015, the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
And the most recent one was the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup which was won by England on their home soil.
So India can become the first nation to script history if they do win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Total 10 teams will be fighting it for the ultimate glory in limited-overs cricket. Apart from the eight already qualified teams, the remaining two will be decided basis the results from the on-going ICC CWC Qualifiers which are taking place in Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe, Netherlands, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Scotland and Oman have made it to the Super Six stage.
Eight teams which have already qualified for the Cricket World Cup 2023 through the CWC Super League are the hosts India, as well as Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa.
