Delhi Polls 2025: Arvind Kejriwal's Income Jumps Over 4x To Rs 7.21 Lakh In FY24, Affidavit Reveals

Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's income in the financial year 2023-24 rose over four times to Rs 7.21 lakh compared to Rs 1.67 lakh in 2022-23, according to an affidavit filed as part of his nomination for the Delhi Assembly election.
The affidavit also revealed that the AAP chief's income had risen sharply from Rs 1.58 lakh in fiscal 2020 to Rs 44.9 lakh in fiscal 2021. However, it dropped to Rs 1.62 lakh in fiscal 2022.
Delhi is scheduled to vote in a single phase on Feb. 5, 2025, and the results will be announced on Feb. 8.
Kejriwal is contesting the election from New Delhi constituency, which he has represented continuously since 2013. He is challenged by sons of two former Delhi Chief Ministers— Sahib Singh Verma's son and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Parvesh Verma; and Sheila Dikshit's son and Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit.
According to Kejriwal's affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, his declared net assets total to Rs 1.73 crore. His assets include Rs 2.96 lakh in bank savings and Rs 50,000 in cash. His immovable assets are worth Rs 1.7 crore. The affidavit also revealed that Kejriwal owns no house or car.
His wife Sunita Kejriwal's income in fiscal 2024 rose to Rs 14.10 lakh, compared to Rs 12.89 lakh in fiscal 2023. Her total assets are worth Rs 2.5 crore, with over Rs 1 crore in movable assets, including 320 grams of gold worth Rs 25 lakh and one kilogram of silver worth Rs 92,000, and Rs 1.5 crore in immovable assets.
Kejriwal's wife owns a house in Gurugram and a small five-seater car, the affidavit said. The couple has a net assets worth Rs 4.23 crore, according to the affidavit.
Notably, Kejriwal had declared assets worth Rs 3.4 crore in the 2020 election affidavit. The same stood at Rs 2.1 crore in 2015.
