The results of UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 are expected soon, following the conclusion of the exams on May 25. Based on past trends, the UPSC CSE Prelims results are announced typically 15 days after the exams. This means that the results could be declared in a couple of days or by this week.

This year, UPSC CSE prelims were conducted in two shifts. Once released, the candidates can check the results on the official UPSC website: upsc.gov.in.

The result of UPSC Prelims is typically uploaded on the platform in the PDF format. The PDF contains the roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified for the next stage of the high-profile competitive exam. After this, selected candidates get a chance to sit for the UPSCE CSE Mains exam.

The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 consisted of two papers: General Studies Paper I and CSAT (Paper II). Both are objective-type papers and feature questions of a total of 400 marks. The CSAT is qualifying in nature, requiring at least 33% marks. The cut-off for Paper I is set by UPSC and used to shortlist candidates for the UPSC Civil Services (Main) examination.

In 2024, the cut-off marks were increased for all categories. A similar trend might continue this year as well. The UPSC CSE Prelims candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for updates.

In the UPSC Prelims held last year, the cut-off marks for general category students stood at 87.98, while the OBC and EWS categories saw cut-offs of 87.28 and 85.92, respectively.

The candidates, who successfully qualify the Prelims exams, will be invited by the Commission to submit another form: Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I). This is an important step ahead of the UPSC Mains exams.
