Tata Steel Ltd., JSW Steel Ltd. and Asian Paints Ltd. were among the top gainers in the NSE Nifty 50 on Wednesday.
Shriram Finance Ltd., HDFC Life Insurance Co. and IndusInd Bank Ltd. were the top losers in trade for the day.
Tata Steel marked the highest gains among the lot, closing 3.68% higher at Rs 165 apiece. JSW Steel and Asian Paints also closed over 2% higher at Rs 1,058 and Rs 2,426 per share respectively.
UltraTech Cement Ltd. closed with 1.64% gains at Rs 12,410 apiece on the NSE. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. gained 1.39%, closing at Rs 12,615.
Shriram Finance marked the most losses among the lot, ending 2.85% lower at Rs 676. HDFC Life and IndusInd Bank also closed over 2% lower at Rs 789 and Rs 856 respectively. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. closed 2.18% lower at Rs 2,009 apiece on the NSE. Larsen & Toubro Ltd. ended in the red with 1.99% losses at Rs 3,593.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 88.4 points or 0.35% lower at 25,453.4, while the BSE Sensex closed 287.6 points or 0.34% down at 83,409.69. During the day, Nifty fell 0.64% to trade at 25,378.75 and Sensex fell 0.65% to 83,150.77.
