Nifty Top Gainers And Losers On April 15: HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank To ITC, HUL

Private bankers led the gains, while FMCG firms took a hit.

Tuesday's trading session ended with HDFC Bank Ltd. as the top gainer for the day and ITC Ltd. as the top loser. Private bankers led gains, while fast-moving consumer goods firms took a hit.

Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 extended gains for their second session after US President Donald Trump held off reciprocal tariffs on non-retaliatory countries for 90 days.

Nifty 50 ended 2.19% higher at 23,329 as the benchmark index gained 500 points and Sensex ended 2.10% higher at 76,735, as it surged by 1,578 points.

HDFC Bank was among top gainers as the private lender ended the day with gains, rising the most among sectoral indices which ended in green on the day. The Nifty Bank closed 2.70% higher.

Following the trend, ICICI Bank closed 2.95% higher at Rs 1,311.65 apiece. Intraday, the stock rose as much as 3.25%. Following closely behind, Larsen & Toubro Ltd. surged to close nearly 5% up at Rs 3,115.95 apiece.

Reliance Industries Ltd. closed 1.74% higher at Rs 1,218.95 apiece on Tuesday. The stock rose 2.63% intraday. Fifth biggest gainer of the trading session was Axis Bank Ltd. as the stock surged to close 4.10% higher at Rs 10,68.95.

The biggest laggard on Friday was ITC Ltd., as the stock declined as much as 0.27% at market close at Rs 421.55 apiece. It was closely followed by Hindustan Unilever Ltd., the only other loser for the day, which declined 0.2% at market close as the second biggest laggard.
