Actor Vijay Deverakonda has condemned the leak of Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay, and called for those responsible to be identified quickly. His reaction adds pressure as the piracy row widens ahead of the film's release.
The actor said the incident made him angry and recalled facing similar pain earlier in his career. His remarks have brought fresh focus to the financial and emotional damage leaks can cause before a film reaches cinemas.
"This current issue needs to get sorted ASAP and the people behind it identified, and if it doesn't it reflects a systemic failure," Deverakonda wrote on social media.
He also described the wider impact on film teams. "You feel like a target, you feel a loss of hope... it's not just about me, there are co-actors, directors, producers, and so many who have all their dreams on the line."

Leak Impact
The controversy began after portions of Jana Nayagan surfaced online before its theatrical release. The leak comes while the project is already dealing with certification issues and legal complications, creating another setback for the makers.
The film is produced by KVN Productions, which has started legal proceedings against those behind the leak.
In an official statement, the producers said sharing or engaging with leaked footage is a serious criminal offence. They also said digital footprints are traceable and strict action will be taken.
