Following its successful predecessor, the Malayalam comedy-drama Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros has hit the theatres on April 2, 2026. Directed by Savin S.A., the sequel has already become a hit at the box office, inching towards the Rs 100 crore club within 12 days of its theatrical run.
For the online streamers, there's a new update on Vaazha 2's digital debut. While the movie is currently enjoying its theatrical run, insider news has already been buzzing with the OTT release date for the comedy-drama sequel. As per reports, JioHotstar has secured the streaming rights for Vaazha 2. This follows the similar pattern of the first part, which is already streaming on JioHotstar in multiple languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
As per reports and recent trends in Malayalam movies, Vaazha 2 is expected to hit OTT platforms about four to six weeks after its theatrical run. However, neither the movie team nor the streaming platform has given an official announcement yet.

Vaazha 2 - Box Office
The sequel has managed to replicate the youth craze of its first instalment, earning praise for its grounded humour and a realistic approach to the lives of the friends as they navigate through friendships and adulthood.
Vaazha, which was reportedly a low-budget movie, turned out to be a commercial success as it had collected around Rs 40 crore worldwide gross. Following the success, Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros, which was also reportedly made on a low budget of about Rs 10 crore, has already passed its break-even numbers. With 12 days at the box office, it has currently locked in a whopping Rs 91.33 crore in total India gross collections. As Sacnilk reports, the net collections are evaluated at Rs 78.84 crore.

Plot
The story of Vaazha 2 follows the realistic life of four friends named Hashir, Alan, Ajin, and Vinayak, who are often carefree. However, with time, they start to take their life seriously. Their story is shown through various aspects of friendship, adulthood, career choices, and even emotional moments shared among them. The genuine approach to the story of these friends has caught the attention of the viewers, as they refer to it as 'relatable'.
