Anil Kapoor's iconic spy thriller 24 is officially set to make its OTT debut on JioHotstar on April 24, 2026, with both seasons returning for digital audiences in a phased weekly release.
The announcement was preceded by a dramatic social media build-up from Kapoor, who first teased fans with a cryptic Instagram warning directed at the platform: “You have 24 hours. Or else I'll take matters into my own hands.”
He followed it up with another charged post — “Against the clock, against all odds! Let's do this! #24onJioHotstar” — instantly sparking curiosity.
In the clip, he declared, “Spy thrillers ka universe palatne wala hai. Kyunki aa raha hai action shows ka baap — 24. Sirf JioHotstar par,” signalling the return of the high-octane series in style.
Episodes will be released in batches, with eight episodes dropping every Friday, giving audiences a chance to experience the show's signature real-time tension once again.
Originally aired on Colors TV in 2013, followed by a second season in 2016, 24 was widely seen as a landmark moment for Indian television. Adapted from the globally acclaimed American series 24, the show stood out for its real-time storytelling format.

At the centre of the story is Jai Singh Rathod, played by Kapoor, the chief of the Anti-Terrorist Unit, who is constantly racing against time to neutralise threats. Reflecting on the project, Kapoor described it as “an adrenaline rush like no other,” adding that the demanding format pushed him to stay sharp and fully immersed as both an actor and producer. He also expressed excitement about introducing the series to a new generation through streaming.
Helmed by Abhinay Deo and Rensil D'Silva, the show features a strong cast including Tisca Chopra, Neil Bhoopalam, Mandira Bedi, Suchitra Pillai, Anita Raj, Sapna Pabbi, Angad Bedi, Sudhanshu Pandey and Ashish Vidyarthi, with notable appearances by Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi and Ronit Roy.
With its gripping, time-bound narrative and cinematic scale, 24 is poised to captivate both longtime fans and first-time viewers as it finds a new home in streaming.
