French President Emmanuel Macron made a late-night visit to Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station on Tuesday, with visuals showing him walking through the historic site under close protection.
Macron seemed at ease as he looked around the historic station, briefly exploring the surroundings alongside accompanying officials.

Macron is on a three-day visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the AI Impact Summit. Macron is set to attend the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on Feb. 19.
In the footage, Macron is seen exploring parts of the station, pausing to survey the illuminated interiors and exterior spaces. At the same time, security personnel held a controlled perimeter and officials remained alongside him.
Ahead of his visit to the CST station, French President Emmanuel Macron caught many in Mumbai off guard by joining morning walkers for a jog along Marine Drive.
Dressed in a navy-blue T-shirt and sunglasses, Macron maintained his exercise routine despite being on an official overseas trip. The run passed off smoothly, with limited attention from onlookers and the media as security personnel stayed close by.

In response to the viral video of the French President's jogging, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Mumbai hosts several marathons. And to have this sort of public exposure centred around health conveys a very good message to the youth of India and the youth across the world.”
“I think that is the sentiment with which we should take this particular idea of President Macron jogging in Mumbai," he added.
President Macron and PM Modi inaugurated the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation in Mumbai on Feb. 17. The two countries have elevated the bilateral relationship to a “Special Global Strategic Partnership”.
“This year will feature a series of high-impact collaborations in India and France spanning diverse sectors such as Innovation, Science and Technology, Cyberspace and Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare, Sustainable Development, Cultural and Creative Economy, and Research and Education,” read an India – France Joint Statement.
