Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, which will be observed on April 14. The advisory comes as large gatherings of followers are expected at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar on April 13-14 to pay their respects to the revered social reformer.
Authorities have warned of heavy crowding and possible traffic congestion in and around Chaityabhoomi and Shivaji Park. To ensure safety and smooth movement, DCP Dr Dipali Thate (Headquarters and Central Division, Traffic, Brihanmumbai) issued a temporary traffic regulation order under Section 115 of Motor Vehicles Act and notifications.
According to the order, traffic in the affected areas will be regulated from April 13, 11:a.m. onward till April 14 midnight. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly before heading toward Chaityabhoomi, Shivaji Park and Dadar areas.

Roads Closures:
- S K Bole Road will be one-way from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church.
- S V S Road from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction will remain closed to all vehicular traffic. Local residents may use Road No 5, Pandurang Naik Marg.
- Ranade Road will be closed for all vehicular traffic.
- Dnyaneshwar Mandir Road will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction on S V S Road up to Dadar Chowpatty.
- All heavy vehicles, goods vehicles including tempos (except BEST buses) will be diverted from Mahim Junction via L. J. Road.
Traffic Regulations:
- South-bound traffic from Western Express Highway toward Mumbai will turn left at Kalanagar Junction, move from Dharavi T Junction to Sion or they may take 60 ft Dharavi Kumbharwada, then turn right at Sion Hospital onto Dr B A Road, or use Bandra Worli Sea Link via Bandra to reach South Mumbai.
- North-bound vehicles from Colaba or CSMT can proceed via P D'Mello Road, Barrister Nath Pai Road, Zakeria Bunder Road and R A K Road, then take right under Matunga flyover toward Sion Hospital, or use Worli Bandra Sea Link to reach northern suburbs of Mumbai via designated traffic routes accordingly.
- North-bound vehicular traffic from Mahalaxmi Railway Station via Dr E Moses Road shall take a right turn at Rakhangi Chowk and proceed via Senapati Bapat Road for onward journey accordingly.
- Vehicles from Eastern Express Highway toward South Mumbai shall take Wadala Bridge, Barkat Ali Naka, BPT Colony, and proceed via Eastern Freeway for onward journey.
- No parking will be permitted at Veer Savarkar Road from Babasaheb Worlikar Junction (Century Junction) to Yes Bank Junction, Ranade Road, Dnyaneshwar Mandir Road, Keluskar Road South and Keluskar Road North.
- Parking arrangements have been made at Senapati Bapat Road from Mahim and Dadar side, Indiabulls Finance Centre Elphinstone (PPL), Kohinoor Square and Kohinoor Mill Compound near Shivaji Park Dadar (PPL), Kamgar Stadium on Senapati Bapat Road, Indiabulls Centre Jupiter Mill Compound Elphinstone (PPL), and Five Gardens RAK 4th Road for public convenience.
