The government of Bihar has unveiled a plan to hire an additional 45,000 educators in public schools as part of the fourth phase of the Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE-4) in the forthcoming months.
This declaration was made by Education Minister Sunil Kumar on February 19. He also declared that the state administration has chosen to employ 7,000 specialized instructors for public schools designed for students with physical disabilities.
Rs 60,000-Crore For Education
During the concluding discussion on the suggested budget of Rs 60,204.60 crore for the education sector for the fiscal year 2026-27, Education Minister Sunil Kumar made this declaration in the state assembly. The budget was approved, although all opposition members exited the House, asserting they were unconvinced by the government's response regarding the education sector.
According to Times Now, "The government has decided to recruit another 45,000 teachers for its schools through Teacher Recruitment Examination 4 in the coming months. In Teacher Recruitment Examination 1 & 2, more than 1.70 lakh and more than 70,000 teachers were appointed, while in Teacher Recruitment Examination 3 ,66,603 posts could be filled. Now, the government will soon initiate the process of recruitment of another 45,000 teachers under Teacher Recruitment Examination 4," Kumar said.
Previous Recruitment in Bihar Administration
The Bihar administration has already recruited 258,000 teachers since 2023 via the Bihar Public Service Commission under the TRE. Kumar also mentioned that the state administration has regularized an additional 368,000 non-commissioned instructors who were appointed by local agencies. The BPSC conducts assessments for elementary, intermediate, secondary, and higher secondary educators in educational institutions.
While participating in the discussion, RJD MLA and former education minister Chandrashekhar, alleged that the NDA government in the state has failed to improve the quality of education as well as infrastructural facilities in the government-run schools in the state.
