Next U.K. Brexit Vote Could Be Delayed, Official Says

(Bloomberg) -- The U.K. Parliament's next opportunity to vote on Brexit, which had been expected for Feb. 14, could be delayed, a U.K. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Last week, aiming to buy herself time and stop Parliament from taking over the Brexit process, Prime Minister Theresa May had promised that, if she didn't have a fresh deal by Feb. 13, she would make a statement that day and lay a motion that they could vote on the next day, giving them another chance to call for an extension of negotiations.

The official said both that a deal was unlikely to be agreed in the next week, and that the vote could take place later. A parliamentary recess planned for the following week has been cancelled.
