India recorded nearly 38,000 new cases of Covid-19 as a projected third wave threatens to hit economic activity in the country.
As many as 37,875 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry's update as of 8 a.m. on Sept. 8.
Daily recoveries, at around 39,000, continued to exceed fresh cases for the third day in a row, causing a marginal drop in the active case load. Active cases now account for 1.18% of the total cases in India.
