TCS AGM: N Chandrasekaran Skips Meeting, Tata Group Pledges Support To Air India Plane-Crash Probe
Chandrasekaran had also missed the annual general meeting of Tata Consumer Products Ltd. on Wednesday in the aftermath of the crash.

The Air India plane crash loomed over Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.'s annual general meeting on Thursday, with the Tata Group expressing deep sorrow and affirming its support for the ongoing investigation.
Tata Sons Chairperson N Chandrasekaran skipped the meeting, and it was presided over by Independent Director Keki Mistry. Chandrasekaran also missed the AGM of Tata Consumer Products Ltd. on Wednesday in the aftermath of the crash.
"This is a very difficult time for us at the Tata Group. We are deeply saddened," Mistry said as the meeting began. "This is an unimaginable tragedy that has resulted in so many loss of lives, what can be of no consolation right now."
"Our thoughts are with the families, loved ones of the people who lost their lives. Tata Group stands in solidarity with the affected families," Mistry said.
Chandrasekaran was said to be missing the meeting due to "some exigencies". A minute's silence was observed at the meeting to pay respects to the victims of the crash.
Mistry also added that the Tata Group was co-operating in the ongoing investigation. "All of us are deeply shaken by the unfortunate incident. Tata Group is fully committed to supporting the ongoing investigation and co-operating with (the) regulatory authority."
"Tata Group has pledged comprehensive support. Financial assistance and rebuilding efforts are being made to aid the affected," Mistry said.
The shareholders present at the meeting too expressed their grief and mourned the loss of lives in the tragic Air India crash.
