Capt. C P Krishnan Nair, a war veteran and founder of the Leela Group of hotels, died Saturday morning.
Hotel Leelaventure Ltd reported in a filing to the BSE the demise of "its Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Capt. C. P. Krishnan Nair (91 years) on May 17, 2014 after a brief illness".
Capt. Nair is survived by his wife and sons, including Vivek, who heads the 28-year-old hotels chain with eight prime properties across the country.
Capt. Nair breathed his last around 3.30 a.m. at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, where he was admitted recently, an official said.
