The Industrial Safety Department has issued a closure notice to Jindal Polyfilm Company in Nashik following a fire incident, reported NDTV Marathi. Smoke has been rising from the company for the past six days. The notice cites an inadequate fire extinguishing system and chemical leakage posing environmental threats.

Breaking News Live: ITR Filing Deadline Extended

The Central Board of Direct Taxes has decided to extend the due date of filing of ITRs, which is due for filing by July 31. The extension has been made till September 15.

"This extension will provide more time due to significant revisions in ITR forms, system development needs, and TDS credit reflections. This ensures a smoother and more accurate filing experience for everyone. Formal notification will follow," the Tax department said in a release.

Breaking News Live: Monsoon Forecast For 2025 

India is set to receive plentiful rains this year as the southwest monsoon season will see above-normal rainfall, the government said on Tuesday.

The rainfall is expected to be up to 106% of the long-period average, M Ravichandran, secretary at the Ministry of Earth Sciences said at a press briefing.

For June, rainfall up to 108% of the average is expected.

Breaking News Live: Omar Abdullah Hold Special J&K Cabinet Meeting In Pahalgam

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday held a special cabinet meeting in Pahalgam, which was shaken by a deadly terror attack last month, to give a clear message that the government will not be 'intimidated by cowardly acts of terror'.

After the meeting, the chief minister's office posted on X pictures of the meeting held at the Pahalgam club.

"Chaired a Cabinet Meeting at Pahalgam today. It was not just a routine administrative exercise, but a clear message - we are not intimidated by cowardly acts of terror," the chief minister’s office said in X. "The enemies of peace will never dictate our resolve. Jammu and Kashmir stands firm, strong, and unafraid," it said.

This is the first time the cabinet meeting took place outside the usual summer capital, Srinagar, or winter capital, Jammu, during this government's tenure.
