SNB’s Income From Negative Interest Rates Is Increasing: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- The Swiss National Bank's income from negative interest rates totaled 408 million francs ($412 million) in the three months through the end of September. That's the highest quarterly tally since the rate of minus 0.75 percent was introduced in early 2015. The central bank has an exemption threshold of 20 times an institution's minimum reserves, and SNB President Thomas Jordan said in April it could “potentially be a policy instrument.”
