China's First Modern Jet Isn't All Made in China: Graphic

(Bloomberg) -- When China's first modern large jet takes its maiden flight on Friday, it'll mark the nation's boldest attempt yet to break the stranglehold of Airbus SE and Boeing Co. in commercial aviation. It'll also highlight that behind the celebrations of a Made-in-China aircraft is the reality that the 158-174 seat C919 -- built by state-owned Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China Ltd. (Comac) -- was constructed using a string of Western suppliers, including General Electric Co., Honeywell International Inc. and Safran SA.
