Air India’s designated CEO and Managing Director, Tewolde Gebremariam, has outlined safety, operational reliability and sustainable profitability as the airline’s top priorities, saying the carrier must navigate geopolitical uncertainties, airspace restrictions, elevated fuel costs and softness in key international markets. Addressing employees at a townhall, Tewolde said Air India had made significant progress since returning to the Tata Group, but stressed that improving revenue, enforcing cost discipline and enhancing operational efficiency would be critical to strengthening the airline’s long-term competitiveness.
