Apple to Pull An iPhone 16e On iPhone 17 Pro Max With iPhone 17 Ultra?

RIP iPhone 17 Pro Max? When it comes to smartphones, there is no room for nostalgia, or attachment. Decisions are taken based on a certain set of data that leads to large profit and if that points to some extreme event then, as far as corporates are concerned, so be it. Take for instance the ruthless way that Apple got rid of the iPhone SE series. The SE was supposed to launch, but it was killed off and in its stead, we saw iPhone 16e roll out. Now, the same fate may be awaiting the iPhone 17 Pro Max as Apple may be planning to unveil the iPhone 17 Ultra in the second half of 2025. This was according to 'Naver', a Korean blog. It will reportedly be rolled out as the iPhone 16 Pro Max successor.

So, if you are in love with the "Pro Max" moniker, iPhone 16 Pro Max may be the end of the line.

According to the report, the smartphone model will be the first in iPhone series to have the 'Ultra' brand name which was initially only used in Apple's chipsets and smartwatches.

One of the new model's defining features will be a 'vapour chamber' cooling system to facilitate better heating management in order to reduce the smartphone's chances of overheating with prolonged usage.

This is achieved through the circulation of de-ionised water around a sealed flat chamber to absorb heat and transfer it away from the heat source.

The phone is also expected to be thicker than the previous iPhone model owing to a larger battery according to the blog. It may also reportedly come with a smaller Dynamic Island.

iPhone 17 Air

The model's thickness comes in contrast to another leak regarding the upcoming iPhone 17 series, with this one focusing on the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to be notably sleek in comparison to other iPhone models based on leaked photos of dummy models from tipster Sonny Dickson shared on social media application 'X' (formerly Twitter).

According to The Verge, the phone may have a thickness of just 5.5 inches.

The Smartphone is expected to have 6.6 inch display according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Gurman also reported that the phone may have a 'camera control' button.
