India cricketer Rinku Singh has left the ICC Men's T20 World Cup camp following a serious health emergency involving his father. His father, who is battling stage-4 liver cancer, is currently on ventilator support, according to an NDTV report.
The middle-order batter departed from the team on Tuesday, Feb. 24, to be with his family. BCCI sources told NDTV that the decision was prompted by an emergency situation at home. There is no confirmation yet on whether Rinku Singh will rejoin the squad, with the team management continuing to monitor developments closely.
Rinku Singh has become a key figure in India's T20 set-up in recent years. He is known for his ability to finish games under pressure. His absence could potentially affect Team India's balance as the tournament progresses into its decisive phase.
