Day 6 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 began with a match between Sri Lanka and Oman in Pallekele. Half-centuries from Kusal Mendis, Pavan Rathnayake and Dasun Shanaka helped Sri Lanka post a huge score of 225/5. Mohammad Nadeem put a fifty in the run chase but his efforts were not enough as Oman were halted on 120/9 at the end of 20 overs. Sri Lanka won the game by 105 runs to go on top of Group B.
Action then shifted to Mumbai were Italy squared-off against Nepal. Nepal were all-out on 123, thanks to spells of Crishan Kalugamage (3/18) and Ben Manenti (2/9). In run-chase Mosca brothers -- Justin and Anthony -- hit half-centuries and stitched an unbeaten stand of 124 runs to help Italy notch its first Cricket World Cup victory.
Later in the day, defending champions India took on Namibia in New Delhi. Opener Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Hardik Pandya hit half-centuries as India were propelled to a total of 209/9. Pandya then picked 2 wickets and spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel claimed 3 wickets and 2 wickets respectively as Namibia were bowled out on 116. With a massive win of 93 runs, India has topped Group A.

Day 7 will begin with a match between Australia and Zimbabwe in Colombo. Then Canada and UAE will face-off in New Delhi. The day will end with a contest between the Netherlands and USA in Chennai.
