MI Vs RCB IPL 2026 Preview: Likely XI, Weather, Players To Watch, H2H, Live Streaming

Mumbai Indians host Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 20 of the Indian Premier League 2026 season with both sides entering the contest under pressure following recent setbacks. RCB arrive on the back of their first defeat as defending champions, while MI are looking for a reset after back-to-back losses, interestingly both teams are coming into this game on the back of defeats by Rajasthan Royals.

RCB made a strong start to their title defence, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings comfortably in their first two games. However, they were given a first taste of defeat as champions courtesy a Player of the Match performance from 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who hammered 78 off just 26 balls.

Mumbai, meanwhile, are languishing in the bottom half of the table with just one win in three outings, and already face questions around balance and execution. Their latest setback came in a rain-reduced contest against the Royals, with Mumbai-lad Yashasvi Jaiswal (77*) putting them to the sword.

In terms of availability, Mumbai are expected to receive a boost with Mitchell Santner likely to return after missing the previous match due to a minor niggle. For RCB, Josh Hazlewood has slotted back into the XI after returning in the last match and is set to continue, strengthening their pace unit.

MI vs RCB Weather and Pitch Report

The conditions at the Wankhede Stadium are expected to remain favourable for a full game, with clear skies and temperatures hovering between 33°C and 26°C, and no rain forecast. The surface traditionally offers true bounce and short boundaries, making it conducive for strokeplay, with an average first-innings score around 170–175.

Chasing sides tend to hold an edge here as the dew comes in around the second half of the game, making it difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball under lights.
