Tejas Networks Ltd. shares logged their best week since April 2024, gaining as much as 26%, after it signed an agreement with Japanese multinational IT and electronics company NEC Corp. to manufacture and supply 5G massive MIMO radios.

"Our partnership with NEC will accelerate wireless innovation by leveraging our respective expertise in carrier-class product development for global telcos. We will continue to work closely with NEC to co-create leading-edge 5G/5G-Advanced solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers worldwide," Chief Operating Officer Arnob Roy said.

MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) radios use multiple antennas at both transmitter and receiver ends to multiply capacity, improve signal quality, and boost data speeds via spatial multiplexing and beamforming. These instruments are essential for 5G, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi, and leverages multipath propagation to enhance reliability.

The stock hit 20% upper circuit on Thursday and gained as much as 14% during Friday trade. The relative strength index was 70. The total traded volume was 13 times the 30-day average with a turnover of Rs 2,900 crore. The stock is down 44% in the last 12 months. 

Tejas Networks designs and manufactures high-performance wireline and wireless networking products for telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, defense and government entities in over 75 countries. The company is a part of the Tata Group.
