10 Most-Valued Firms Lose Nearly Rs 5,000 Crore In Market Cap, Led By SBI, Infosys

SBI witnessed the steepest decline among the top 10 most valued firms, with a loss of Rs 8,121 crore

The top 10 most-valued firms lost a cumulative Rs 4,986 crore in market valuation on Tuesday, with State Bank of India and Infosys Ltd. emerging as the biggest losers.

SBI witnessed the steepest decline among the top 10 most-valued firms, with a loss of Rs 8,121 crore, bringing its market capitalisation down to Rs 7.24 lakh crore. Similarly, Infosys saw a reduction of Rs 6,332 crore in its market cap, which now stands at Rs 7.92 lakh crore.

HDFC Bank Ltd. and HCL Technologies Ltd. fell Rs 2,212 crore and Rs 1,641 crore, respectively. Hindustan Unilever Ltd.'s market capitalisation dropped by Rs 787 crore to Rs 5.48 lakh crore, while Bharti Airtel Ltd. saw a decrease of Rs 626 crore, bringing its market cap to Rs 9.01 lakh crore.

In contrast, Reliance Industries Ltd. and ICICI Bank Ltd. gained Rs 608 crore and Rs 1,514 crore in market capitalisation, respectively. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and ITC Ltd. also added Rs 7,670 crore and Rs 4,940 crore, respectively, to their market capitalisation.

RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, HUL, ITC, and HCL Technologies.

The benchmark stock market indices resumed their declining trajectory on Tuesday after a one-day rise. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 25.80 points or 0.11% down at 23,727.65 and the BSE Sensex settled 67.30 points or 0.1% lower at 78,472.87. During the day, the Nifty rose 0.48% to 23,867.65, while the Sensex advanced 0.43% to 78,877.36.
