The sets of Kalki 2 in Hyderabad witnessed a special moment as Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan came together for a film after almost 40 years. Sharing pictures from the shoot on his blog, Bachchan expressed his happiness about the reunion and wrote, “And meeting up with the great Kamal Haasan… we shall be working together after ages… last in Geraftaar.”

The photos show the two legends greeting each other with a warm hug and chatting between shots, a sight that quickly made fans nostalgic. Their last film together was the 1985 release Geraftaar, and this new collaboration is being seen as a full-circle moment for Indian cinema.

Bachchan, who is known for his weekly Sunday interaction with fans outside his Mumbai residence, also mentioned that he had to miss the ritual this time due to the ongoing shoot schedule. He expressed regret over not being able to meet the well-wishers who gather regularly, assuring them that he hopes to resume the tradition soon.

Dressed in his elaborate costume and prosthetics for the film, Bachchan's look offered a sneak peek into the scale of the sequel. Both actors were part of Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin's ambitious mythological sci-fi epic that released in 2024. While Bachchan had a powerful and extended role in the first instalment, Kamal Haasan's appearance was brief, setting the stage for a more expansive role in the upcoming chapter.
