Lavrov, Pompeo May Meet in Russia on May 14, RIA Reports
(Bloomberg) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov plans to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi on May 14, the state-owned RIA Novosti news service reported Tuesday.
Lavrov and Pompeo agreed at talks on Monday on the sidelines of the Arctic Council meeting in Finland to resume their discussions in Sochi, RIA reported, citing an unidentified Russian Foreign Ministry official. It's unclear whether Pompeo will also meet with President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Russia.
Lavrov warned after the meeting with Pompeo that attempts to use military force to resolve the crisis in Venezuela would lead to “catastrophe.”
