(Bloomberg) -- French President Emmanuel Macron said he regretted U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, repeating that France favors a two-state solution.
“This decision contravenes all rules of international law,” Macron said at a press conference in Algiers, according to a live feed. “The priority in the short term is that calm is kept” since it's up to Israelis and Palestinians to continue the peace process, he said.
Macron said he “will do everything” in favor of making Jerusalem the capital for both Israel and a Palestinian state.
