On Friday, October 16, the Delhi Traffic Police released a thorough notice warning commuters of possible traffic bottlenecks and dynamic diversions in central and south Delhi. Traffic authorities said restrictions, diversions or temporary closures could be imposed at 21 key intersections, roundabouts and major road stretches throughout the day, depending on on-ground conditions.

Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel through Lutyens' Delhi and Connaught Place, opt for public transport, especially the Delhi Metro, and monitor the Delhi Traffic Police's official digital platforms for real-time traffic updates.
Earlier, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) announced in an official public notice on Thursday that Central Park, located in the heart of Connaught Place, will remain closed to the public on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17, 2026, attributing the temporary closure to “administrative reasons”.
