Amid rumors of shortage of petrol and diesel Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., in a post on X clarified that the rumors are 'completely unfounded' and India has ample fuel reserves. The company further said that the supply chains are running normally.
BPCL also added that it is fully operational and committed to uninterrupted fuel supply. "Please don't rely on rumors or crowd fuel stations and only rely on official sources for further information," said BPCL.

This comes as government sources told NDTV Profit that Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., a division of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and other refineries have enough crude and are well stocked.

Sources told that India is now getting more energy from the other parts of the world than from Strait of Hormuz. Top government sources confirmed that India is in a comfortable position.
People in the know further said that things are comfortable at the LNG front as well. Only 30% of the LNG comes from Strait of Hormuz, while 10% comes from US. India is also diversifying the supply of LNG from other sources.
The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on Friday ordered OMCs to prioritise domestic LPG supply in India. Refiners have been asked to ensure Propane and Butane is prioritised for LPG production for households and not diver it for industrial production. The directive, issued follows a high-level meeting of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas chaired by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday.
